Traffic violence is one of the leading causes of unintentional injury death in the United States, and people of color are overrepresented victims of traffic violence. In Los Angeles, the twin efforts of Vision Zero and an executive directive aimed at increasing racial equity in city departments present an opportunity to improve racial equity in transportation safety.
