Home / Events / COVID-19 and Renter Distress: Evidence from a New Survey
Loading Events

How are renters responding to job losses and illness caused by the COVID-19 pandemic? Are they paying rent late, or not at all? Are they relying on the support of friends or family, payday loans, or other stopgap measures to stay housed?

Researchers led by UCLA Luskin’s Michael Manville surveyed 1,000 LA County tenants about their housing situation in April through July, asking these and many other questions — with some surprising results. Join us for a conversation on the survey’s findings and what they say about our policy responses to coronavirus and housing instability.
